Air France Baggage Policy

There are three types of baggage allowed on the Flight, Carry-on, Checked baggage, and Excess baggage, and there are different policies for all of them, mentioned below.

Carry-on baggage:

  • Travelers in the Economy class can bring one baggage item and one Accessory per passenger, not more than 12 kg in weight, for free.
  • Travelers in Premium Economy, Business, and La Premiere classes can bring 2 baggage items and one Accessory per passenger, not more than 18 kg in weight, for free.
  • Baggage size should not be more than 55x35x25 cm and 40x30x15 cm for the Accessory.

Checked Baggage:

  • There is no checked baggage allowed for Light Fare Economy class passengers.
  • Travelers in Regular Economy class can carry 1 checked bag per passenger, not more than 23kg( 50 pounds ) in weight, for free.
  • Travelers in the Premium Economy class can carry 2 checked bags per passenger, not more than 23kg( 50 pounds ) each, for free.
  • Travelers in Business class are allowed to carry 2 checked bags per passenger, not more than 32kg( 70 pounds ) each, for free.
  • Travelers in La Premiere class can carry 3 checked bags per passenger, not more than 32kg( 70 pounds ) each, for free.
  • Baggage size must not exceed 158 cm in total dimensions.

Excess Baggage:

  • If any piece of checked baggage crosses the size or weight restrictions allowed by Air France, they will charge an additional fee at the airport. The exact amount varies depending on the route traveled.
  • No piece of checked baggage should exceed the maximum weight allowance of 32 kg.
  • Any bag weighing more than 32kg will be considered Air Freight.

Air France Excess Baggage Fees

  • For a piece of oversized baggage, more than 62 inches ( 158 cm ), you must pay a surcharge of USD 20 for a domestic flight and USD 75-300 for an International flight.
  • For a piece of overweight baggage, more than 23 kg ( 50 pounds ) or 32 kg ( 70 pounds ), you must pay a surcharge of USD 70 for a domestic flight and USD 70-150 for an International flight.
  • For additional baggage, you must pay a surcharge of USD 25 for the first bag, USD 30 for the second, and USD 50 for the third bag and onwards for a domestic flight.
  • For additional baggage, you must pay a surcharge of USD 50 for the first bag, USD 75 for the second, and USD 235 for the third bag and onwards for an International flight.
